Eşek, Arap Hikayesi
1 Bir zamanlar saf bir adam vardı. Bu adam hem çok saftı, hem de çok fakirdi.

Bir gün bu adam çarşıya gitti. Adamın yanında onun eşeği vardı. Onlar çarşıdayken usta bir hırsız onları gördü. Hırsızın amacı eşeği çalmaktı. Hırsızın bir arkadaşı vardı. O da bir hırsızdı. Hırsız:

— Ben bu eşeği çalacağım, dedi. Diğer hırsız:

— Peki nasıl çalacaksın, diye sordu.

— Beni izle, göreceksin, dedi hırsız.

Çarşı çok kalabalıktı. Hırsız ve onun arkadaşı kalabalıkta yavaşça yürüdüler. Usta hırsız sessizce eşeği aldı. Sonra tıpkı bir eşek gibi, adamın arkasında yürüdü. Diğer hırsız da eşeği alıp götürdü.

Saf adam ve usta hırsız yola çıktılar. Adam önde, eşek (yani hırsız) arkada yürüyordu. Eşek (hırsız) bir süre sonra aniden durdu. Adam arkaya dönünce çok şaşırdı, çünkü arkada eşek yoktu. Eşeğin yerinde bir adam vardı.
