HAMBURGER

Herkes hamburger bir Amerikan yiyeceğidir, diye düşünüyor. Ancak o bir Amerikan yiyeceği değildir. Aslında hamburger bir Tatar yiyeceğidir.

Tatarlar Orta Asya’da yaşıyordu. 13. yüzyılda önce Rusya’ya, sonra Kuzey Avrupa’ya göç ettiler. Tatarlar hamburger köftesi gibi bir et yiyorlardı. Ama bu et çiğdi. Bu et genellikle ya dana, ya koyun, ya keçi ya da at etiydi. Bir süre sonra Ruslar da bu eti yemeye başladılar.

Zamanla Hamburg’dan Almanlar geldiler. Almanlar da bu yemeği çok sevdiler ve yediler. Ancak Almanlar bu ete tuz ve karabiber koydular ve sonra onu köfte gibi pişirdiler.

19. yüzyılda bazı Almanlar Amerika’ya göç ettiler. Onlar Amerika’da bu köfteyi pişirdiler. Amerikalılar bu köfteye hamburger dediler, çünkü Amerika’daki Almanlar genellikle Hamburg’dan geliyordu.

1904 yılında Saint Louise’de bir dünya fuarı vardı. Fuarda Teksaslı bir adam bu eti ekmeğin içinde sattı. İnsanlar bu etli ekmeği sandviç gibi yediler. Kısa zamanda bu sandviç son derece popüler oldu

• The student read the text aloud and the instructor corrects his pronunciation mistakes (Reading & pronunciation).
• The instructor and the student do the comprehension exercise together (Speaking).
• The student writes the text with his own words and the instructor corrects it in class or outside the class (Writing).

As you see taking a reading class is not only good for reading and conversation, but also vocabulary, listening, pronunciation and writing.
